That your Petitioner having One hundred Quarters of Mall lying on board<lb></lb>
a Lighter on Vessell Brookswharfe in <rs type="placeName" id="LMSLPS15033_geo242">ye Riverof Thames London</rs>

which Mall your Petitioner had long before paid on Secured to be said all Duty due for the<lb></lb>
same, The said Lighter or<obscured></obscured>
on the Eighteenth Day of May now last<lb></lb>
past by same unknown and unavoidable Accident in the night time<lb></lb>
unfortunately cripplegate saith with your Petitioners said one hundred<lb></lb>
Quarters of Mail therein And confined under ye Water for mary hours<lb></lb>
before your Petitioner his Factor or Servantt could have Intelligence<lb></lb>
thereof or before the said Mall could be again taken up Whereby the<lb></lb>
said Mall received very great Damage To the great Loss and Deterinent<lb></lb>
of your Petitioner By reason whereof and for as much as your Petitioner<lb></lb>
having long before the said accident happened paid<obscured></obscured>
paid the Duty due for ye<lb></lb>
same Your Petitioner humbly apprhends he is intilled to be repaid &<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
allow'd<lb></lb>
ye Duty he hath paid for the same on some part thereof or to have such an<lb></lb>
allowance as will bear ye same Proportion to ye whole Duty as the said<lb></lb>
Damage bears to ye value of the said Mall before was so damaged and to<lb></lb>
have such Releife & Redress as is intended by an Act passed in ye Twelfth<lb></lb>
year at her late Majesty Queen Ann.</p>
<p n="557">Your Petitioner therefore humbly Pray & your Worships<lb></lb>
would be pleased to determine Etc setts ye Quantity of ye Damage<lb></lb>
done to your Petitioners sd<obscured></obscured>
by ye sd Accident and to<lb></lb>
give your Petitioner a Certificate under your Worship<lb></lb>
hands & Seals of ye Sume your Worships shall think fitt to<lb></lb>
allow That ye officer appointed to<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
ye sd Duty may<lb></lb>
repay or allow to your Petitioner so much mony a ge<lb></lb>
Sume your worshipps shall think fitt to allow or that<lb></lb>
your Worships would please to make such order therein<lb></lb>
for your Petrs Redress in ye places as your Worships shall<lb></lb>
