or Vessell called the Rose in June of Whitby in the County of York burther
Ninety five Tunser thereabouts and Luke Hudson< no role > Mariner aged about
Thirty seven years Sailer in the said Ship Severally Make Oath That
the these Deponts on the Sixteenth day of November 1720 Shopped on
Board the said Vessell Eight four Tuns of white Salt in geod condition
by Nicholas Burden< no role > of son the Should consigned to Ambrose Cox< no role > of
London Mercht bound for the port of London and on the 18th of the Same
Month of November Those Deponts sailed from South theilds aforesd
towards the port of London aforesd. and proceeding on their indented
Voyage for London on Sunday following viz on the Twentieth day of the
Said Month of November It so happened that they these Depts. off
upon the Deepsat Sea Within Seven Leagnes of Cromer met with
Tempestnous weather and Violent Stann of Wind on which they lost
their Man [..] Sail. and the Sea by the Violence of the Winds was
driven over the Ship for Several times and the said Depts further made
Oath and sau that whatsoever damage or less hath happened to the
said Ship and leading was occasioned by the Violence of the stoms and
negligence default of this Master or Marriners And they these Depts
Say that on the fifth day of December following they Ordered at the
port of London and upon the delivery and unloading of the sd Salt these
Dept further say that four hundred & forty Bushells part of the
Said Eighty four Tuns of Salt before mentioned was left consumed
and washed away by the Violence of the Normal Sea aforesd
and no other wise.
