The Examinacon of George Crooke< no role > taken
before me one of his Maties Justices of the
peace for the City of London

This Examinant confesieth and saith That
on Wednesday the 13th of this instant april about
seven in the Evening one George Davis< no role > came to
him in Lombard Street and talked with him about
buying a Silver hilted Sword and some time afterwards
the said George Davis< no role > sent this Examinant to one
Cooper a Waterman at Blackfryers Stairs to know
if he could help a Gentleman to a boat to goe
to France upon which the said Richard Cooper< no role >
replyed that he would help the Gentleman to a
boat whereupon this Examinant returned with
the answer to the said George Davis< no role > and
imediately Afterward the said George Davis< no role >
sent this Examinant to one Durrant Enstace
to tell him that the said Davis would Speak with
him And after this Examinant had been at
several peaces to see for the said Durrant Enstace
he at last found him at his own house in butcher
Hall Lane and came with him the said Enstace
to Mr Davis and assoon as the said Darrant
Enstace and George Davis< no role > were wine together
they together with this Examinant went to the
Castle tavern in Lombard Street and afterwards
being in the said tavern the said Davis bid this
Examinant goe home to [..] on some better Clothies
and gave him two Guineas to give his [..] adding
withall that he Shouldgivetell his wife that he
this Examinant was goeing for two or three dayes
and accordingly this Examinant went home and
dressed himself and not the said Davis and Enstace
together with one Mr Barker at the Swan Tavern
