The Informacon of Christopher
Briggs

maker , taken before me this 16th.
Day of September 1718 .

This Informant Saith That he huth Served the sd.
Thomas Bushwell< no role > as his apprentice for upwards
of Two nears, and that During that Time one
Christopher Nelson< no role > then fellow Apprentice with
him this Informant at diverse Times advised
and encouraged him to deliver to one Mrs.
Rowley Wife of James Rowley< no role > a Barber who
then lived in Duck Lane near Smithfeild
Severall Chairs: which he took'e & Set a part
for her when She came for them and ordered
her to Stay out of Sight till his Master was
gone to Bedd, and accordingly this Informant
deliveredtheat Severall Times to the Said Rowley in that manner
fifteen Chairs, besides Two other Chairs he carry'd
to the Said Rowleys house, and this Informant
further Saith that on Christmas Eve last the sd.
Nelson looke Two Chairs out of the Shop and
as he beleives carryed them to the Said Rowleys
house, and in the Christmas Week the Said Nelson
loose Two Dozen of Caines out of ye Shop & Sold
them to a Turner at Fleet Ditch; To all which Said
[..] yor Facts the Said Nelson enjoynd' & this
Informant to Senecy & to wish (by giving a Note
under his hand) that The Devill might take his Soul
if ever he divulged or Discover'd to his Master where
the said Goods were Conveyed, & to induce him there to
the Said Nelson gave him Two Shillings. & no more.
