John Hall< no role > the Compll. in this Cause Seing one of the People comonly
called Quaters affirmeth & Saith that about March one thousand seven
hundred and thirteen he this affirmant shipt or caused to be Shipt at
Leith in Scotland on board the Ship John of Leith Two baled of Linnen
Cloth marked J. H. No. L. B. in which was Three hundred peices
of white Aberdeeus yard wide Linnen containing Seven thousand
Eight hundred thirty Six Yards Four peices of white Aberdeeus three
Quarters wide Linnen containing Ninety Nine Yards three Quarters
Two peices of Twilled Aberdeen Linnen containing Forty Four
Yards Seven peices of Srotch Muslins containing One hundred and
nine yards Seven peices of Serge containing Two hundred and Eighty
Yards Two large ropes and two Paul Streets all which said goods were
of the Vallue of Four hundred pounds and upwards And this
affirmant consigned the same to the Deft. William Mouat in London
to keep or lay by till this Affirmant shoudl otherwise order the sames
and this affirmant Further Saith that the said Two bates were.
delivered to the said William Mouat< no role > as he hath since acknowledged
to this affirmant bur this Affirmant saith the said William Mouat
refusing either to deliver the said goods to this affirmant or give this
affirmant any account of the same this affirmant Exhitted his bill
in this Honourable Court to compell the said Deft. to deliver the same
to this affirmant or to account with this affirmant for the same but the
said Defendr. is in contempt to an attachment and hath been taken
thereon Yet neverthelesse the said Deft. gives out as this affirmant
is informed and verily beleives that he intends to returne to aberdeen
is Scotland (being the place of his abodo) in a very Short times.
