The humble Petition of the Church Wardens & Overseers
of the poor of the Severall parishes of St Giles without
Cripplegate St Botolph without Algate St Andrew Wardrobe
St Katherine Coleman St Andrew Holborn St Sepulchres
St Brides Allhallows on the Wall St Botolph Aldersgate
and St Botolph without Bishopsgate.
Sheweth
That your Petitioners are very much Over burthened
with Poor and not able to raise Sufficient Sumes of money amongst
themselves to releive them Notwithstanding their Assessments
are greater than heretofore. Yet the Charge of the poor is far
about their Assessments as the same upon their Examinacon hath
divers times appeared to Several Worthy Aldermen of this City
appointed to hear the same And their Poor daily encreasing upon
them their Said parishes Some of them lying near the Suburbs
and others of them in the Suburbs of this City.
Their humble Petition therefore unto your good
Honour and Worships that you will be favourably pleas'd
to grant unto them the Contributions of other parishes within
this City for and towards the releiving the poor as they have
formerly had which are Particularly here undermenconed
