The Informacon of John Baldock< no role > a sorter at the
Gentale Post office London taken upon Oath this 25th. Day
of March Ano Dni 1708 o. before me Sr . Robt. Beachcroft< no role > Knt .
and Alderman and one of her Maties Justices of the peace for
the City of London .

This Informt. deposeth That the being imployed as a sorter if
Letters for the Ireland part in the Gentall Post office London
did enter into a Agreemt. with one John Rands< no role > a Letter Carryer
of the Inn land post office to desire and defrand her Maty of her
Revenues belonging to the Post office, and the method which they [..]
for the doeing thereof, was by this Informt. Sinking part of the
charge of a parcell of Letters wch. came from some Ireland porter
Townes, and the better to carry the same on, the said John Rands< no role >
according to the agreemt. betweene him & this Informt. did goe to
Mr. Jackson Clerk of the Chester Road who was the proper officer
and acquainted him that the said Letters announced to less than
they really did, and that the said John Rands< no role > well knew how much
to sink out of every pwll of Letters by the placing of the Box in
which they were putt in a certaine place, and by this practice
for two Months last past untill the 14th, instant they the said
John Rands< no role > & this Depont. have had and were about Fifty
Shillings as peice wch, they have defrauded her Maty of as aforesd.
and Ptimlarly on the sd. 14th. day of this instant March, this
Depont. & the sd. John Rands< no role > did sink Ten shillings which was
equally divided between them.
