For as much as Complaint hath this day
been made unto us two of his Maties: Justices of
the peace for the City of London & libertyes
thereof (Quor unus) by the Churchwardens
and overseers of the poor of the parish of St
Gregoryes London that one Sarah Emerson< no role >
Singlewoman , being great with Child of a
Bastard Child is lately come into the said
psh with an Intent to obtaine a Setlement
therewith out giveing any natise in
writeing to the Churchwardens or otherwise
by Law is required and is now likely to
become chargeable to the aforesd Psh if
not timely prevented And for as much
as it appeares unto [..] pon the oath of
the aforesaid Sarah Emerson< no role > , that her
last legall Setlement was in the Psh
of St Michael Queenhithe London where
she lived about two years time with Mr
John Cox< no role > of the same P'ish Salter for the
terme of one whole yeare or upwards as
a hired Servt for three pounds ten shillings
P Ann and She never obtained any other
legall Setlement Since

These are therefore in his Maties. name Strictly
to Comand you some or one of you upon sight
hereof to take pass & remove the Body of the
aforesaid Sarah Emerson< no role > from the aforesd
Psh of St Gregories London to ye Psh of St Michael
Queenhith London and there to leave her wth
the Churchwardens or overseers of the upon of
Same Psh, who are hereby required the
provide for her according to Law, And here
of faile not at yor Pill, Dated and given,
under our hands and Seales this 19th. day
of December 1700 Anno RRc With to the
