The humble Peticon and Appeale of the Churchwardens &
Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of St. Buttolph without
Aldgate London

Sheweth

That by virtue of a Warrant under the hands and Seales of two of his Maties
Justices of the Peace within the City of London (one being of the Quor) dated the
14th. day of Aprill Anno Dni 1699 Mary Tuffnell< no role > an Infant Daughter of
William Tuffnell< no role > was brought to you Petrs. to be pvided for became her said
Father formerly dwelt in your Petrs. said Parish of St. Buttolph whereas in truth
the said Mary by Indenture of Appnticehood dated the 20th. day of Aprill
1698 was legally bound to one John Abney< no role > of the Parish of St. James Duker place
Taylor for the Terme of nyne yeares As by the same Appeareth And is legall settled
in the said Parish of St. James Duties place as aforesaid

to hear them all in the prmisses And to order the Churchwardns.
of St. James Dukes place to Appear before you and to Ralph
the said warrant made by the said two Justices And candle
said Mary Tuffnell< no role > to the said Parish of St. James taken place
where shee is legally settled to be by them kept & paid as for
untill they can Free themselves of the charge thereof by due course
of Lawe
