The humble peticon & Appeale of the Churchwardens & Overseers
of the poors of the Parish of St. Michaell Royall

Sheweth

That Elizabeth< no role > & Jane Selby< no role > the Children of William Selby< no role > by virtue of
a Warrant under the hands & Seales of twoe of his Maties Justices of
the peace within this City (one being of the Quox) were brought by the
Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poore of St. Martins Vintrey London
to yor Petrs. to be pvided for on the Path of Isaac Grevill< no role > & William Ashwin< no role >
That the said William Selby< no role > was charged with & paid the Polltaye for
severall yeares past in the said Parish of St. Michaell Royall And therefore
Suggested to be his last legall settlement Whereas in truth the Pavment
of the Polltaye is only a psonall taye And not a publick taye or levy of the said
parish whereby to gaine a legall Settlement in any parish

Yor. Petrs. therefore humble pray yor. Honors. & Worpps. to order
the said Chruchwardens of St. Martins vintrey to appeare
before you And to hear them all in the prmisses And to Quash the
said Warrant And send the said Elizabeth< no role > & Jane Selby< no role > backe to
the said parish of St. Martins Vintrey where the said William
Selby< no role > dwell & inhabited To be pvided for & mainteyned According
to Lane And have this charged allowed them wch. They have wrongfully
Insteyned by keeping the said Children
