Oath that the deft. William Knott< no role > Confessd. to this depont. yt. he
did abt, the twentieth day of Septembr. Last past Cause the house
of George Mainwareing< no role > gent in Goodmans fields in the County
of Midds to be broke open and the goods of this dept. and of one
Magdalen Carter< no role > then and there found (for wch. he stands now
Indicted) to be Carried away and brot. into ye. Fryers into a
Roome wch. the sd. Knott had hired there severall of wch.
goods. were found in the sd. Roome wch. the sd. Knott had soe
hired and when this depont. came wch. the Constable to
search for the sd. goods the sd. Knott told this depont. that
had he knowne this depont. would leave had a want. to
search for the sd. goods he would have putt them where ye
Dwell should not find jur. and one Charles Howson< no role > where
now in Flandrs. as this depont. is in formd. & berily believes
told this depont. that he could and would prove yt. he saw
the sd. Knott breake open the Trunckth box of this dept. and
take part of this deponts. goods out of the sd. turnck and ye
said Howson being a prisonr. in ye Fleet as this dept. is informd.
& believes hath at this dept. is Likewise informd. and
believes writt a Lettr. Directed to one Belwood att the
Hen and Chickens by St. Dunstans Church in Fleet street
intimateing that he will not Returne from Fland. till the
Act passes for the Relief of poore prisonrs. And this dept.
alsoe informd. that the sd. Knott hath this sessions [..] Came ye sd.
Howson [..] to be indicted wth. a Designe to take off his
Evideme but that the sd. bill is brot. in Ignorances
