Temple Esqr taken upon Oath this 27th day of March
Anno Dui 1696

Who Saith that on Wednesday last about tenn of the clock in the forenoon
he went out of his Chamber in the Inner Temple & at that time
he left about five or Six & fifty guinea peices of Gold in a drawer
under his deske wch is in his Study there that on the next day being
thursday in the morning he found his Study doore open the drawer
drawn out & the gould Gone that he hath been Informed that
Stephen Dell< no role > his footman on Wednesday night brought one John
Brisbin< no role > into his house in Berry Street London where they lay together
& went out from thence the next morning about eight of the clock
And further this Informt depossth that the said Stephen Dell< no role > did not
come in all that day nor night & that he doth veryly beleive that the
said Stephen Dell< no role > & John Brissin< no role > did take the said Gineas out of his
study

The Informacon of Ralph Sharpe< no role > of the pish of St Andrew
Holborne Coachmaker taken upon Oath the day & year
abovesaid

This Informant Saith being one of the head boroughs of St Andrew Holborn
a warrant was brought to him to Apprhend Stephen Dell< no role > & John
Brisbone< no role > that accordingly he did Apprehend them & carryed them to
the Redlyon in Redlyon Street where the said [..] Stephen Dell
conffessed to this Informant that he opened his matter Undy doore by [..] the [..] took a pcell of Guinea, out of
his Masters in Study but what number he knew not And this Informt
further depseth that the said Stephen Dell pulled out a bagg wch guineas
& gave them to this Informant telling him he had them out of his Masters
Study but could not tell the Number saying to him there was all this
he had excent one Guinea wch he had given thence [..] to Blisbone & two Guieas more
wch he had yesterday disposed aft [..] at the three cuppale house in holborne And this
Informant further deposeth that the number of guineas wch he reced of
Stephen Dell< no role > was forty Seven & one of John Brisbon< no role > wch the said Brisbon
confessed [..] he had from the said Stephen Dell & that the shaes
& clocking wch the said Buston has on acc this time more being be will
paste of the money of ye the other two guineas now charges [..] to day morning
att the knew cupp alehouse
