This Examinant Saith that on the three and twentieth day
of August lastheone Thomas Hall< no role >
carried this Examint: to
the Salutation Taverne by Billingsgate
to meete wth one
Willm Stiles< no role >
, to Exchage Broad money for Clipt money
Saying that Stiles would give two and twentie Shillings
and Six pence in the pound, and this Examint: and the Said
Stiles and Hall finding that that Taverne was not
private enough for them, the Said Stiles ordered that a
Coach might be called to carry them to another Taverne
and accordingly they all three went to the Bull head
on Tower Hill
and there this Examint: did deliver unto
the Said Stiles' three pounds in broad money and Stiles
gave this Examint: three pounds Seven shillings and
Six pence in Clipt money for it and thereupon we
parted in a freindly manner the Said Stiles Pimsingto
to meete this Exaiant at the Kings head Taverne in the Burrough
on the Saturday following, but he came not thither accord:
-ing to his pmises, And this Examint: further saith
that he was never acquainted or Saw the Said Stiles before
theire meeteing as aforesaid, and saith that the said
Stiles gave the Said Hall a paire of shoes and halfe a
Crowne to bring him acquainted wth this Examinant
and this Examint: doth denie that he did any wayes
menace or threaten him the Said Stiles or forced any
money from him and alsoe doth denie that there
was any Pson wth this Examint: and the Said Stiles
that night who went by the name of Macey.
