The Information of Christopher Adding-
brook
< no role > Watchman taken before ye Rt: Honble
Sr. Jno: Fleet< no role > Kt : Lord Major of ye City of
London and one of their Majesties Justices
of ye peace for the Same City the
8th: day of March 1692

The Said Informant Saith he being a watchman
was with Mr. Wade ye Constable at Mr. Shepherds
house a Taverne at ye sign of ye Shepherd in Cheapside
on Sunday morning last about two a clock being ye 5th: day of
March instant and going with the Constable into Shepperds
court went into ye house and saw three men Sitting there
The Constable asked them what Company there was in
the house They told him only a person of quality
and bid ye Constable go up Staires to disturb him if he
durst. This Informant going up Staires with ye Constable
saw a person playing upon a harpe and one Mr.
Cook with a flaske of wine in one hand and a glasse
in ye other and Mr. Shepperd in bed in ye said roome
whereupon ye Constable committed ye Musitian and
Mr. Cook And this Informant going with yr. to the
Compter and coming back to ye Shepperd Tavern again
with ye Constable the Constable knockt Severall times
at ye door Whereupon a man coming to ye door told
the Constable that ye master had ye leys up Staires
and he could not open it and that ye man asked
Mr. Constable what businesse he had there and the
Constable commanded in ye Kings name to open
the door and after it was opened ye Constable met
with an abusive person in ye house and ordered
him to be carried to ye Compter which was done
accordingly Then a drawer coming down staires told
the Constable that a Lord would speak with him
above The Constable answered if he had any
thing to Say to him he might come down if he pleased
And then ye Lord came down and told ye Constable he
had but three Servts: with him and he had comitted
two of ym and commanded him to fetch them out
or else he would lay him by the heels on munday
The Constable answered his authority did not extend
so far. And further Saith not

Taken at knowledge Sworne
ye day & yeare abovesaid.
