instant this Informt. was at ye Red Lyon in ye. Minories in Compa. wth. Henry
Drewett< no role > & Thomas Hates drinking And that Soldier & one Pson more being the
decd. for Smith came into their Roome & called for drinke and it being late ye Sd.
Soldier & ye decd. were ofter desir'd to goe out of ye house wch. at last they did And ye Sd.
Soldier (whose name this Informt. hath since heard was Wm. Herley Said to ye Sd. wm.
Drewett< no role > & his Company who had See often or Sired him to goe out of ye house That he
yor time now but it will bee ours another time That afterwards as they were going
home being abt. one of ye Clocke on Sunday morning last Some other words arose
betweene ye Sd. Thomas Hates & ye Sd. Hersey upon wtch ye Sd. Thomas Hates struck at the
sd. Wm. Hersey< no role > wth his hand but whither hee hitt him this Informt. knowes not And
this Informt. sayeth that ye Sd. Thomas Hates imediately thereupon Said hee was Stucke
or Stabbd & bade this Informt. take care of Himselfe Whereupon ye Sonn in Lan
of ye Sd. Thomas Hates< no role > (being likewise there) cryed out his Father was Stabb'd And
this Informt. Sayth that he following ye Sd. soldier he Saw him knock't downe
by one Sallicke a Gun Smith Sime dead And he sayth that ye Constable
& [..] a Watchman laying hold of ye Sd. Hersey hee had a knife in his
hand & being examined hee acknowledged hee had stabb'd three men And yt.
ye Knife shewne to him tell Informt. was ye Same taken out of ye. Said
Herseys hand at his apprehension.
