Who being upon her Oath<del>That</del>
Saith, That she has lived and<lb></lb>
Resided as Relation and as a Companion to Lady Sambrook in Hanover Squares<lb></lb>
aforesaid for the space of five Years last Past or thereabouts<lb></lb>

That on friday last in consequence of a Conversation which pass'd<lb></lb>
at Lady Sambrook's house between Lady Sambrook and the Informant<lb></lb>
relatives to a striped Sattin Gown, one Margaret Watt's formerly<lb></lb>
Margaret Pearl who has lived as Waiting Woman with Lady Sambrook for<lb></lb>
upwards of Two Year's past was Called upon to Produce the said<lb></lb>
Sattin Gown she having the<del>Custody</del>
& are of Lady Sambrook's Wearing<lb></lb>
Apparelly Saith That the Answer given by the said Margaret<lb></lb>
Watt's when so called upon to produce the said Sattin Grown, was<lb></lb>
that her Ladyship had no such Gown, or used Word's to that or<lb></lb>
the like purport and Effect, Saith That some suspicion of the<lb></lb>
said Margaret Watt's honesty then arising in the Informants mind<lb></lb>
she determind of Possible to detect her; Saith That the next day<lb></lb>
she called the said Margaret Watt's into the Presence of Lady<lb></lb>
Sambrook and charged her in order to know what was become<lb></lb>
of the aforesaid Striped Sattin Gown and also a brown Silk<lb></lb>
Damask Gown the property of Lady Sambrook, when the said<lb></lb>
Margaret Watt's confess's to that she had been very bad in deed<lb></lb>
but that Lady Sambrook's things shou'd be returned, or used<lb></lb>
Word's to that or the like Effect, Saith, That from had pass'd<lb></lb>
on the friday and Saturday she this Informant did the next day<lb></lb>
being Sunday mates an Examination into Lady Sambrook's<lb></lb>
Wearing Apparell when she found that there missing<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
Twelve<lb></lb>
Gowns of different sorts, To Wit-One Striped Sattin Gown<lb></lb>
aforesaid, one Brown Damask Gown, One Black Born bazeen<lb></lb>
Gown, One Grey and Gold Silk Gown, 2 Black Silk Gown's, One<lb></lb>
White Dimity Gown, One Black Sattin Gown One Striped Lutestring<lb></lb>
Gown, One Sprigg'd Lutestring Gown, One Blue Tissue Silk<lb></lb>
Gown and one Grey Tabby Silk Gown together with other things<lb></lb>
All which Twelve Gowns and other things she verily believes<lb></lb>
and is very well satisfied is the property of Lady Sambrook aforesaid<lb></lb>
and word in the Care of <rs type="persName" id="LMOBPS45012_n1005-4">Margaret Watts</rs>
