Middlesex


At William Roweds the Lebecks head in the Parish
of Saint Paul Shadwell the 25th. day of June 1785
on view of the Body of Robert Dobson< no role > then and
there lying Dead

Charles Smith< no role > Foremost Man on Board the
Ship Rodney lying at Hanover hole Saith That
Dobson was a Foremost Man of Same Ship
That last Thursday between four and five in the
Afternoon Informant and Dobson and one Thomas
Harrison were in a Barge lying along side the
Rodney Taking Deals in from the Rodney
That Dobson was hauling in a Deal on the
Lighters Gunnellthatand the Hooks which
They used slip'd off And by that means
Dobson fell Backwards into the River and was
DrownedNever came up Once
That he was soker at the time

Thomas Harrison< no role > Saith That Dobson
Clap'd his Hook into the side of a Deal and the
Hook slip'd off that went over the Lighters
Gunnell backwards into the River and was
Drowned
