AN INQUISITION indented, taken for our Sovereign LORD the KING, at the Middlesex
Hospital situate in Charles Street in the Parish of Saint Mary le bone
in the County of
Middlesex , the Twenty sixth Day of December in the Fortieth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign LORD GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of GOD of Great-Britain, France
and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before George Hodgson< no role > Gent
one of the CORONERS of our said LORD the KING, for the said County, on View of the Body of
James Kelly< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
the several Persons whose Names are hereunder-written and Seals affixed, good and lawful
Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly sworn and
charged to inquire, for our said LORD the KING, when, how, and by what Means, the said
James Kelly< no role > came to his
Death, do, upon their Oath, say, That the said James Kelly< no role > in the eighteenth Day
of December in the Year aforesaid at the Parish and in the County
aforesaid being in a Room there wherein there was a Fire It or
happened that the Cloaths which the said James Kelly< no role > then
and there had on his Body accidentally took Fire By Means
whereof he was very much burnt of which said burning he
languished until the twenty third Day of December aforesaid and
then and to noit of the Middlesex Hospital And or the Jurors
aforesaid do say that the said James Kelly< no role > in Manner and by the
Means aforesaid accidentally came to his Death and not
otherwise

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said CORONER asthe said Thomas Shepherd< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, and the Rest of his said Fellows, have, to his Inquisition set
their Hands and Seals, the Day, Year, and Place first above-written.
