Informations of Witnesses severally taken and
acknowledged on the behalf of our Sovereign Lord the King
touching the Death of Richard Potter< no role >
at the Dwelling House of James Sparks< no role > Known
by the Sign of The Castle in the Township of New.
Brentford in the Parish of Hanworth in the County of Middlesex
on Saturday the fourth day of February. in the Twenty
Sixth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third
before me Edward Umfreville< no role > Esquire one of his Majesty's
Coroners for the said County on an Inquisition then and there
taken on View of the Body of the said Richard Potter< no role > .
then and there lying dead as follow to wit.

James Carter< no role > of Old Brentford aforesaid Coal heaver Upon his Oath
Saith That on Thursday the Second day of February instant
about Nine of the Clock in the forenoon he was sitting in
the Tap room of James Potter< no role > of New Brentford Victualler
The Father of the deceased and on a Sudden heard the Mother
of the deceased scream out and Say Oh' dear my Child
will be Killed upon which this Deponent opened the
Door of the Tap room and ran out and as soon as he
came to the Door he saw the deceased just under the Wheel
of a Brick Cart with two Wheels loaded with Cuider and
drawn by two Horses which appeared at that instant to have gone our his Bodyand he immediately went up to
the Spot where the Accident happened. and look the
deceased into his Arms but whether this Deponent
took up the deceased himself or whether The Carter
who was driving the Cart (and whose name he hath
since heard is John House< no role > .) took the deceased up and
gave him to this Deponent or not. he cannot now.
remember being in so great a fright upon the occasion.
