Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say, at the parish of Saint
Bartholomew the Less in the ward of
Farringdon without in London aforesaid
this 19th: day of August 1797 on view of
the Body of Susannah Shepherd< no role > now
here lying Dead

Mary Coe< no role > living with her Father & Mother No:50 upper
Thames Street her Father a Milkman maketh Oath that
she hath known the deced who was about 14 years of
age and lived with the Father & Mother about three
Years part That about five oClock on Thursday Eve
last the deced & Dept were talking together upon the
pavement near Dept fathers house which is on the
right hand side of the way going to wards London
Bridge that a Cart loaded with Bricks drawn
by one Horse and which Dept believes belonged to a
Mr. Payne No.49 upper Thames Street Bricklayer was
standing still against the pavement close to where Dept
& the deced were talking that [..] an Empty Cart
drawn by two [..] coming part just at the time going
towards London Bridge caught hold of the Cart belongs
to Mr. Payne & turned the Tail of Mr Paynes Cart< no role >
close to the Wall of the House and prossed the deced
between the Tail of Mr. Paynes Cart & the Wall of
the House that the Pavement is very narrow
that Dept was obliged to step on one side that
the deced cried out that the Driver of the Cart which
passed was on the opposite Pavement on the near side
of his Horses and the Horses were going a walking pace
That as soon as the Cart had passed the deced can
into Dept father's house< no role > & sat down that a Surgeon
having been send for came & bled the deced that she sat
a little while and complained of a violent pain in
her Stomack That in about an hour after the deced was
taken away & conveyed to Saint Bartholomew's Hospital
where as Dept. has been informed she died about three
oClock yesterday Morning
