on his Oath saith that on Monday Evening he was at<lb></lb>

the Father of the deceased two boys<lb></lb>
came running to the deceaseds Father and said something<lb></lb>
which Deponent did not then<del>but</del>
hear and upon observing<lb></lb>
the Father of the deceased to run he enquired what was the matter<lb></lb>
and was informed that Hooks Son was Drowned Deponent there went down<lb></lb>
to Pickle Herring Stairs to render assistance and Deponent<lb></lb>
procured a pair of Grappling Irons and dragged the River<lb></lb>
the Father also Grappled for him and Deponent saw him<lb></lb>
drag the deceased out of the water and he was then<lb></lb>
conveyed to the Five pipes public house near the Stairs where<lb></lb>
the means were used to restore him to life as prescribed by<lb></lb>
the Humane Society but in vain the deceased being quite dead</p>
