Informations of Witnesses taken at the
Parish of Saint Sepulchre in the Ward of Harringdon
without in London aforesaid on the 27 day of April
1797 on view of the Body of William Davis< no role > then and
there lying dead.

William Lee< no role > ofweeking at No 40 Cow Lane but who lives [..]
No 16 Cursitor Street< no role > Druggist on his Oath saith [..] that
Yesterday Morning about 11 o Clock he went up to the deced [..]
Room [..] which is in the back Garrett at No 14 in
Cow Lane to take a pair of Shoes to the deceased who
was Shoemaker to be mended the door was a
Jar and upon Deponents entering the Room he observed
the deceased hanging by a Rope one end of which was
round his Neck and the other end fastened to a Spike
Nail drove into one of the Joists of the Room his
toes touching the Ground and his knees bent forward
that Deponent then called to the Lodger on the next
floor and told him of the situation in which he had found
the deceased who desired Deponent to stay while he went
for his Father that the Lodgers Father not coming he
gave Information to his Shopmates who went the House
and Deponent saw no more of himthat when
Deponent first discovered him he touched him and he
was quite Cold and appeared to be dead.
