Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say, at the Parish of Saint Botolph
without Aldgate in the Ward of Portsokenin
London aforesaid this 2d. day of January
1796 on view of the Body of Catherine Levi< no role >
now her lying Dead.

Mary Levy< no role > of No.15 Angel Court in the [..] Stoney Lane
in the Parish of Saint Botolph without Aldgate Widow maketh
Oath that she hath known the deced Catherine Levi about
twenty Months that she was a Widow Dept. occupied the
Room on the Ground floor in said house and the deced rented
the two pair of Stairs Room over Dept. in said houseThat
about four o'Clock on Tuesday Morning last Dept. being in the
one pair of Stairs Room in said house sitting up with the person
who lodged there & was will heard some body over head in the
deceds Room groaning and Morning Dept. halloed & sayed
Mrs. Levi what is the matter (supposing it to be the deced) & asked
her if she wanted a Light the deced sayed yes Dept. [..] took
a Light & went up to the deceds Room pushed the Door open
& went into a little place parted off in the Room wherein the
deced slept the deced was lying in the Bed Dept. asked her
what is the matter the deced sayed nothing Dept. asked her
what made her make such a Noise the deced sayed it was
not her & seemed to Laugh that she seemed in great agony
& groaned very much that she looked very wild & stated very
much & seemed very much surprised at seeing Dept. Dept.
asked her if she would have a Bason of Tea The deced sayed
"Tea" "Tea at this time of Night;" & looked wild then sayed yes
I will Dept. went down & brought up a Bason of Tea to
the deced Dept. held the Bason to the deced the deced sayed what
makes you bring me Tea at this time of Night Dept. sayed you are
ill & I want you to drink it & held towards the deced the deced
seemed match at it & put her hand in it & sayed she did not
want & then forced it away from her by which the Tea was
spilt the deced appeared to laugh Dept. then left her That
between eight & nine yesterday Morning a little Girl of the Name
of Levy came to the house & went up to the Stairs and Dept. hearing
her Knock at a Door went up & found her knockingat the deceds
Room Door which as fastened Dept. tried to open it the little
Girl sayed here is the deceds face here Dept. looked & saw the deceds
faced Dept. put her hand in & fell the deceds face which was
quite cold Dept. gave the alarm & soon after some persons
