Depositions of Witnesses taken at the Precinct
of Saint Ann Blackfriars in the wand of
Farringdon within in London aforesaid
this 24th. day of February 1795 on view of
the Body of Robert Whitworth< no role > now here
lying Dead

Jane Penny< no role > living at the House of Edward Holmes< no role > of No. 3
play house yard Blackfriars London Paper Maker maketh
Oath that she hath known the deced Robert Whitworth< no role > some
Year past that he was a Printer by business and lodged in a
two pair of Stairs back Room in Mr. Holmes House and was
also employed Mr. Holmes as a Printer that a between the hour
of three & four in the afternoon of Sunday last Dept. went up to
[..] a Garret in Mr. Holmes House for the purpose of calling the
deced to his Dinner-that upon Dept. getting to the top of the Garret
Stairs the Garret Door< no role > being open Dept. saw the deced hanging
by something from the ceiling of the Room-Dept being alarmed
ran downstairto the one pair of Stairs Room and acquainted
a Mr. Hilder who occupies that Room a Mr. Hilder and
another person soon after went up Stairs-that Dept. observed
the deced on the Friday &Saturday to appear very dull and
Melancholy to what he usually used to do during the time Dept.
has known him.

Bridge Printer maketh Oath that on Sunday Morning last he was
employed at Mr. Holmes in the Printing Business on stead of the deced
whom Dept. understood was unwall that Dept. went to work about
ten OClock thataboutbetween twelve & one the deced came into
the Garret or printing Office in Mr. Holmes House where Dept. was
at work that he appeared very unwall that he complained of
his Head and sayed he was in a very law way-that he once or
twice wished himself dead-that Dept. continued working in the
Room until a few Minutes after three & then went away leaving
the deced in the Room employed in some work [..] respectly the Printing
Business.
