London Depositions of a Witness taken at London
that is to say at the Parish of Saint George
Botolph Lane in the Ward of Billingsgate
in London aforesaid this 17th day of October
1794 on view of the Body of a Man unknown
now here lying Dead

his Father No. 7 Cooper Gardens Hackney Road Middx
maketh oath that about ½ past 6 on Wednesday Evening
last Dept being a work on fresh Wharf Thames street in the
Parish of Saint Botolph without Billingsgate heard the watch
man on the Wharf say there was a Man over board Dept
and some other persons went on board a lighter then lying
alongside the said Wharf and saw a Man in the water between
the Knighter and a Wart India Ship which lay about the Lighter
that one of the persons having got a Brathook looked the deced
but the byhis Coat but the coat giving every he sunk under
the water that upon his coming up again the said person
hooked the deced again by his coat that got himinto theon
a scale Board and then on the Wharf that he was quite
Death
