Ward of Billingsgate
maketh Oath the about
three OClock on Tuesday Morning last in consequent
of one of the Watch men coming in to Billingsgate
Ward Watch house and speaking to Mr. Breer who
was Constable of the Night Dept. went by the
desire of Mr. Breer to fetch the deced that Dept.
found the deced lying on his Back upon the foot
pavement at the bottom of St. Mary's Hills just
leading into Thames Street
Dept. and an their Watch
remain lifted he deced up and asked him if he
could help himself the deced made no answer
but appeared very week and Dept appeared
the deced to he intoxicated-that Dept and the
then Watchman
took the deced to the Watch house
and left him their in the recharge of Wm Bzeer the
Constable
of the night that when the watch house
up at seven Oclock Dept was left at the Watch broke
in order to take care of the deced that the deced
was then lying on the Floor near the Watch house
Fire but when the other watchmen went but the
deced was lifted on his Bottom with his Back aged
one of the Benches in the Watch house-that about
an hour afterwards Dept spoke to the deced
has deced no answer and he appeared to be
Drawsey and sleeping-that about appear nine
Dept. fell the deced that he felt cold Dept then
tryed if his pulse beat but his Pulse not and heading
Dept concluded the deced was Dying upon which
Dept acquainted Wm. Bates the Beadle who returned
with Dept to the Watch house and then in the found
the deced was quite dead that the deced appeared
to been old Man between [..]
