Depositions of Witnesses taken at
London that is to say, as the parish of
Saint Lawrence Jewry
in the Ward of Cripplegate within in
London aforesaid this 23d. day of
December 1793 on view of the Body
of Sarah Tucker< no role > now here lying Dead

Thomas Melluish< no role > of Tiverton in the County of
Devon a Lodger at his Aunts Sarah Webber< no role > of Tiverton
aforesaid Spinster maketh Oath that he has known
the deced Sarah Tucker< no role > some years past that he has
known her for there five years back very well that
she was a married Women her Husbands Name Edward
Tucker and [..] a Boot and Shoe maker at Tiverton
aforesaid thatthere are six Children living
belonging to the deced and her said Husband-that
the deced came to Town with Dept. on Friday Evening lad
by the Stage from Honeyton in the same County-that she
was delivered to the Care of Dept. on last Thursday Morning
by her Son Edward Tucker< no role > about twenty years of age or [..]
upwards and a Mr Randall a Watch maker of Tiverton
aforesaid in order for Dept. to get her [..] into Bethlem she having
been out of her Mind for two Months previous there to to
Dept. knowledge and for six Months previous as Dept.
was informed by the deceds Husband and reputed to be so
by several persons in Tiverton-that the deced and Dept.
got to the Swan with two Nicks in Lad Lane about five
OClock on the Friday Evening-that she was put into a Room
and Dept and some other persons continued with her until
about ten OClock when she went up Stairs with a Mrs.
Brewer the Mistress of the Swan and the Chamber maid
Dept. went up the Next Morng. Saturday about nine OClock
to the Room Door wherein the deced now lies-Dept. knocked
as the Door several times and receiving no answer Dept.
opened the Door and went in-Dept. upon opening the
Curtains saw the deced hanging by something from the
top of the Foot of the Bed-Dept. gave the alarm and a Waggoner
of the Housewho was inthe ChurchInn Ward with one of the [..] of the [..] went to the Room where the deced lag-Dept. saw the deced afterwards in the Evening
lying Dead in a Shell in the Room
