Deposition of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say, at the parish of Saint Mary
at Hill in the Ward of Billings gate in
London aforesaid the 19th. day of December
1793 on view of the Body of Elizabeth Padgaster< no role >
now here lying Dead

Sarah Watson< no role > Widow Servant to Mr. Morton of
the Queenshead Dark house Lane in the parish of
Saint Mary as Hill in the Ward of Billingsgate in London
maketh Oath that about twelve in the Night of Monday
last the deced came to Dept. Mistress's House< no role > in Dark house
Lane aforesaid that she was sitting on the Tap Room near
The Fire that she appeared to be an Old Woman about
sixty years of Age or upwardsthat a Man who was in
the Tap Room at the same time came to Dept. as the Bar
and asked Dept. for a Bed Dept. asked him for whom
he sayed for him and his Wife Dept. asked him where
his Wife was he sayed here she is and Jointed to the
decedDept. went to the deced and asked her of that
Man was her Husband she sayed yes [..] Dept sayed
to the deced why is that your Husband you appear to be
a very old Woman the deced sayed "Yes there is not much
odds in our Ages the I appear older there is not above
one or two year difference in our Agethat the deced
appeared very chearfulandthat the Man came twice
to Dept. afterwards about the Bed Dept not having determined whether
they should have a Bed that the second time he came Dept.
told him he might have the Bed and he payed Dept.
& shilling for it the Man then went to the deced [..]
took her by the Arm and sayed come my Dear you are
tired go to Bed that to the best of Dept. recollection the
Man and the deced had a Pint of Pave and a penny
tooth of Gin which they drank togetherthat one of the
Waiters Richard Clayton< no role > Dept. believes took on Candle and lighted the
Man and the deced up Stairs to go to Bed-that they
Man had she dress of al [..] reenwich Pensioner or and
the deced sayed that he was soDept. saw nothing
more of the deced or the Man after ward
