Deposition of a Witness taken at the Borough of
Southwark in the County of Surrey to wit, at
the Parish of Saint George within the Borough
aforesaid in the County aforesaid this 8th day
of August 1793 on view of the Body of
Daniel Ranger< no role > now here lying Dead.

William Matthew< no role > a Servant to Mr. Ives Keeper of His
Majesty's Gaol for the County of Surrey maketh Oath that
he hath known the deced Daniel Ranger about two
Months that he was a Prisoner in the said Gaol under
sentence for a felonythat he hath been ill ever since
the time of his Conviction at the last Apize held for this
Countythat he first complained of a Pain in his Bowell
and the day after appeared to have a violent River
of which he continued very bad and got worse daily
until this Morning about four O Clock when he
departed his Life that the Surgeon of the Gaol
attended him from the time of his first taking ill
until his Death and Dept. has no doubt the aforesd.
disorders occasioned the deceds Deaththat he had
every assistance during his illness that the Gaol
could afford.
