Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that into say, at the parish of Saint Botolph
without Bishopsgate in the Ward of Bishopsgate
without in London aforesaid this 13th: day of
February 1793 on view of the Body of Sarah

Mary Welch< no role > of Angel Alley Bishopsgate Street London
Singlewoman maketh Oath that the deced her Daughter an
Infant about the age of Six Months was left by Deponent
asleep in a turn up Bed stead in the lower Room of Dept. house
belonging to a Mrs. Harris at the lives at the next Door in Angel Alley
aforesaid about Ten OClock Yesterday Morning Dept. having occasion to go to said
Mrs. Harris's to clean her Rooms. that in about a quarter of an
hour after Mrs. Harris asked Dept. where her Child was Dept.
told her where she had left it. that much about the same time
Dept. heard one Thomas Ryley< no role > and Rose Dapplehill< no role > [..]
[..] who lodged in the Room over Dept. coming down Stairs
Dept. [..] soon after hallsed to the said Rose Dapplehill Woman from Mrs.
Harris's Room there being only a thin Partition between the
two Rooms to mind the Child, that the Child [..] meaning
the deced was in the Bed Upon which said Rose Dappehill< no role >
cryed out Oh Lord the Child Bed " Mrs. Harris immediately
went to Dept. Room and Dept. followed her that Mrs. Harris
got into the Room first that on Dept. going in Mrs. Harris was
drawing [..] the deced [..] from
between the Bed Cloaths the Bedstead was down but appeared
to have been turned up after Dept. had left it that Dept. was
much frightened that the Child was taken by a Woman to be
carried [..] to a Surgeon that in about a quarter of an hour after
the deced was brought back Dead that Dept. has formind the
Child since that from its appearance it had been turned up in
the Bed Cloaths by the Bedstead having been turned up and by
that means Dept. apprehends it was mothored Upon Dept.
first going into the Room with Mrs. Harris as hefore mentioned
[..] Ryley and Dapplehill were both standing by the Fire
Place Dept. asked them what they had done to her Child
Ryley tore his tear and sayed "what have I done" Oh the Child, the Child "
upon which Dapplehill sayed with an Oath I will take it upon
myself for I turned [..] it up meaning as Dept. apprehended
the Bedslead whereon Dept. had left the Child.
