Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say, at the Precinct of Whitefryers
in the Ward of Farringdon without in London
aforesaid this 5th. day of February 1793

Thomas Ryal on Apprentice to Nathaniel Ryal< no role > of Whitefryers
Dock London Lighterman maketh Oath that about the hour of Six
in the Morning of Saturday last Dept. being employed on board
a Craft in Whitefryers Dock heard something flashing and gagling
in the Water without side the Dock Dept. immediately went to a
Craft lying along side of Lounder and wests Wharf and there saw
the deced strangling in the Water Dept. endeavoured to get hold
of the deced while Dept. was so doing the deced sunk and the
Water Dept. gave an alarm and one Wm. Turner< no role > who came
[..] with a Boat book got the deced soon after out of the Water on
board the Craft from whence he was taken to the Blue Anchor
Publick house where the deced now lyes that soon after a
Dastor came to the house to the deced that the deced was rubbed
with Salt which recovered the deced a little so that he groaned
and soon after he was taken up Stairs when he appeared sensible
that he was then blooded by the Doctor and appeared so far recovered
as to tell his the deceds fellow Servant his Name that Dept. then
left the deced he appearing an Dept. thought perfectly recovered
that in about an hour after Dept. returning to the house was informed
the deced was dead and on going up to the Room where he had
left the decedandhe found him dead-that at the time Dept. first
went to the deced while in the Water no parson whatever was near the
Craft the deced appeared to have fallen from.
