Southwark


Deposition of Witnesses taken at the
Parish of Saint Saviour within the Borough
of Southwark in the County of Surrey this
29th: day of January 1793 on view of the
Body of Edward Humphreys< no role >
now here lying Dead

Edward Rowe< no role > a Waterman living at the House [..]
Door to the Sun & Hat Block Public house in the Mage
within the Borough of Southwark maketh Oath that labour
the hour of Eight in the Morning of Yesterday Dept. [..] saw
the deced floating in the Water and fastened to a Boat
lying at Pepper Alley Stairs in the Parish of Saint
Saviour within the Borough of Southwark Dept. examined
the deced and found a Watch in his Pocket about six penny
worth of Half pence two knives-that the Deced appeared
to have been some time in the Water-that he had no Buckles
in Shoes-Dept. immediately went and informed the
Beadle of the parish of Saint Saviour of the Body being
there.
