An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London [..]
that is to saythat is to say at the parish of Saint Leonard East Cheap in the Ware of Bridge [..]
on the twentysecondseventh day of October in the thirtysecondthird year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord< no role >
George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender
of the faith and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the
King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the Body of Nias
Thoms now here lying dead by the Oath of Thomas Flint< no role > , Daniel Willis< no role > , Richard

Peter Briggs< no role > , Henry Bamford< no role > , John Kidgell< no role > , Thomas Soarlett< no role > , and Thomas Gill< no role > , good and
lawful men of the City of London aforesaid who being now here duly chosen sworn and charged
to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the said Nias Thomas on the twenty
fifth day of October in the year aforesaid being going and passing along and thro
a certain public street and Corman highway called Cannon street and one William B [..] all
being then and there driving a certain loaded cart drawn by 2 Horses along and through
the sd Street It so happened that the said Nias Thomas being near to the said Cart white
the same was passing on as aforesaidandthe off wheel of the said Cart did then and
there accidentally go upon and pass overthe saidthe Body of the said Nias Thomas by
means whereof he the said Nias Thomas did then and there receive divers mortal wounds and
bruizas in and upon her said Body of which said mortal wound sound bruises she the said Nias Thomas did then and there die
And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesd. do say that the said Nias Thomas in
manner and by the means aforesaid casually and by misfortune was accidentally
killedand that the off which of the said Cart is of the value of 1s. and is the property and
in the possesion of Messrs Browning and Aipin of Smithfield Bars London. In Witness where
as well the said Coroner as the said Thomas Flint< no role > the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself
and the rest of his fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and seals the
day year and place first abovewritten.
