An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Parish of
Saint Peter Pauls Wharf in the Ward of Queenhithe in London aforesaid on the twentieth day of
July in the thirty second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace
of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth Before
Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and
Borough of Southwark on view of the Body of Charles Faro< no role > now here lying dead
by the Oath of John Fettiplace< no role > , Charles Deacon< no role > , George Edwards< no role > , John Olibar, Cottingham,
John Edwards< no role > , David Roberts< no role > Richard Matson< no role > , James Milne< no role > , Jonathan Downes< no role > , Christopher
Pursey, Jonathan Chapman< no role > , John Anderson< no role > , John Henly< no role > ,and Joseph Tucker< no role > , and John
Adamson, good and lawful Men of the Parish and Ward aforesaid who being now
here duly chosen Sworn and Charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and
in what manner the said Charles Fare< no role > came to his death say upon their Oath that the said
Charles Fare< no role > on the Sixteenth day of July in the Year aforesaid being standing upon
the Stairs of a certain Wharf there situate called Pauls Wharf and near unto the River
Thames It so happened that a certain person whose name is unknown Accidentally
Casually and by misfortune pushed against the said Charles Faro< no role > by means of which
said Pushing he the said Charles Faro< no role > did then and there accidentally Casually and by
Misfortune fall from and off the said Stairs into the said River Thames and in and
with the Walters of the said River was then and there Suffocated and Drowned of which said
Suffocation and Drowning he the said Charles Faro< no role > did then and there die and so the
Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said Charles Faro< no role > in manner
and by the means aforesaid accidentally casually and by misfortune was Suffocated and
Drowned In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said John Fettiplace< no role >
the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the best of his Fellows
in their presence have to this Inquisition Set their Hands and Seals the day Year
and Place first above Written
