An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Parish of Saint George
without the [..] Southwark in the County Surrey on the thirtieth day of July in the thirty first year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord< no role > George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland
King Defender of the Faith and so forth Before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord
the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the Body of a Male Infant Child
[..] her lying dead by the Oath of William Dawson< no role > William Harrison< no role > Thomas Wopper< no role > Richard Archer< no role >
John Dell< no role > Stephen Gray< no role > John Ross< no role > George Hormouth< no role > Alexander Dowley< no role > John Hill< no role > Nathaniel
Tibb William Wilkinson< no role > and Robert Haywood< no role > good and lawful Men of the Parish aforesaid who
being now here duly Chosen Sworn and Charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and
in what manner the said Male Infant Child unknown came to his death Say upon their Oath that a
certain person or persons whose Name on Names to the Jurors aforesaid is or are unknown not having the
fear of God before his her or their Eyes but being moved and redused by the Investigation of the Devil at
the Parish aforesaid within the Borough aforesaid in the County aforesaid then lately before feloniously
wilfully and of his her or their malice afore thought did make an assault upon the said Male Infant
Child and that the said person or persons whose Name or Names or are unknown a certain piece of string
of no Cause round and about the neck of the said Male Infant Child did then lately before
feloniously wilfully and of their Malice aforethought fix put and place and that the said person or
persons whose Name or Names is or are unknown with both the Hands of him his or them the said person or
persons whose Names is or are unknown both ends of the said String so fixed put and placed round and
about the neck of the said Male Infant Child as aforesaid did then lately before feloniously wilfully and of
Malice aforethought under Slypeel by means whereof the said person or persons whose Name or Names is or are unknown
did then lately before With the string aforesaid feloniously maliciously and of their malice aforethought choack strangle and
Suffocate the said Male Infant Child of which said Choaking Strangling and Suffocation the said Male Infant Child
did then lately before die and so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said person or
persons whose Name or Names is or are unknown She said Male Infant Child in manner and by the means
aforesaid feloniously wilfully and of their Malice aforethought did Kill and Murder and that the said person [..]
or persons whose Name or Names is or are unknown at the time of committing the Felony and Murder aforesaid
at any time since had no Goods or Chattels Lands or Tenements within the Borough of Southwark aforesaid [..]
said County of Surrey or [..] where to the knowledge of the said Jurors and that the said person or persons whose
Name or Names is or are unknown after to she or this had done and committed the felony and Murder aforesaid
withdrew himself herself or themselves and Fled for the same In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as
the said William Dawson< no role > the foreman of the said Jurors on Behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows
in their presence have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and place First
above Written
