Southwark

An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the
Parish of Saint Thomas within the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey
on the thireth day of April in the thirty first Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord
King the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender
of the faith and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our Said Lord
the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the Body of Mary
Glauister now here lying dead by the Oath of John Lee< no role > John Mitchell< no role > John Overy< no role >
William Bridge< no role > [..] William Cromwell [..] Thomas Law< no role > William
[..] James Gardiner< no role > John Lemon< no role > Thomas Wright< no role > William Cornfoot< no role > Robert Martin< no role >
Christopher Crooks< no role > Thomas Crooks< no role > Jonathan Parry< no role > and James Stephens< no role > good and
lawful Men of the Borough of Southwark who being now here duly chosen sworn and
charged to enquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the
said Mary Geanister< no role > came to her death say upon their Oath that the said Mary
Gla [..] ster on the twenty eighth day of April in the Year aforesaid being crossing a certain
Street called Gracechurch Street in the City of London it so happened that one of the
Shafts of certain cart drawn by one horse then passing the said Street Accidentally
casually and by misfortune did strike against the said Mary Glanister< no role > and four her
to and against there and near to [..] a certain other Cart drawn by 2 Houses also passing along
and through the said Street by means whereof the off Wheel of the said last
mentioned cart did then and there accidentally casually-and by misfortune go
upon and pass over the Bellyofand night arm of her the said mary Glanisters< no role >
by means whereof she the said Marry Glanister< no role > did then and there receive divers
Wounds Bruises in and upon her said Belly right own and right side of the Ribs
of her the said Mary of which said mortal Wounds burises and Gractures she the said Mary
Glauister the day and Year aforesaid as well at the parish of Saint Bennett Gracechurch
in the Ward of Bridge as also at the said parish of Saint Thomas within the Borough
aforesaid in the County aforesaid the languish and languishing did live on which said
[..] twenty eighth day of April in the Year aforesaid at the parish last aforesaid
within the Borough aforesaid in the county aforesaid the said Mary Glanister< no role > of the
Said Mortal Wounds bruizer and fractures did die And so the Jurors aforesaid on
their oath aforesaid do say that the said Mary Glanister< no role > in manner and by the
means aforesaid casually and by misfortune was Accidentally killed and that the
off wheel of the said last mentioned cart was moring to the death of the said Mary
Glanister and is of the value of two Shillings and the property and in the possession
of a certain person or persons whose name or names to the Jurors aforesaid are as
yet unknown In Witness thereof as well the said Coroner as John Lee< no role > the
Foreman of the said Jurors [..] on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows
in their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and Seals the say year
one place first above written
