LondonDepositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say, at the parish of saint Clement
Eastcheap in the Ward Candlewick
in London aforesaid the 15 day of October
1790 on view of the body of John
Shillingford now here lying dead.

John Gordon< no role > Bricklayers Labourer a Lodger at John Edson< no role >
Henry Edwards< no role > of Wark house Court Saffron Will in the County of Middlesex
Porter maketh Oath that between the hours of nine and ten
ofin the morning of Yesterday the 14th. instant Dept: and the deced
(who was a Bricklayer ) were employed in repairing the Top of
in out house in the occupation of Mr. John Wade< no role > of Cannon Street
London Tin plate Warehouse man-that the deced was upon the
Tyling of said Out house at was Dept: that Dept. turned about
in order to hand some Mortor to the deced whils he was so doing
he heard some thing rattle upon the Tiles of said Out house he
observed the deced falling from the Tiler-that the deced in falling
catched hold of Dept Cloaths that Dept caught hold of a Window
near him & Dept. Cloaths tearing the deced fell upon the Basement
in the Yard of said house upon his head that dept went down
to the deced that there was a great deal of bloody lying round the
deced upon the Pavement that the deced received a large but on
the right side of his head-that s Surgeon whocame and looked
at the deced who declared he could do him no service as the deced
was dead-and in a little time the deced was quite dead-that
no person was near the deced when he fell except Dept and that
the deced was about three Yards above Dept when he fell
