To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of St. James Dukes Place
London, and the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St. Dionis
Backchurch London< no role > respectively.

WHEREAS Complaint hath this Day been made
unto us two of His Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the
Peace for this City, and the Liberties thereof (Quorum
nuns) by You the Churchwarden and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parise of St. James in Dukes Place
London, That one John Harrison< no role > is lately come into
your said Paris &
your said Parish not having obtained any
legal Settlement there, and is likely to become charge
able thereto by reason of his lameness and poverty
unless timely prevented,
which Complaint we adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appears unto us by the Oath of the said John
Harrison that about eleven years age he served an
apprenticeship of seven years & a Journeyman ship of one
year witz one Mr. Richard Baily< no role > a Fillet Painter in the P is &
of St. Dionis Backchurch & London & hatz
not obtaind any subsequent Settlement. We the said Ju-
stices are therefore of Opinion, and do adjudge the last
legal Settlement of the said John Harrison< no role >
to be in the said
Paris & of St. Dionis Backchurch & London and
that thirtherto he ought by Law to be sent.

THESE are therefore, in His Majesty< no role > 's Name, to re-
quire you remove and convey the said John Harrison< no role >
from and out of your said Paris & of St. James in Dukes
Place London, to the said Paris of St. Dionis Back
Church London and him leave with the Churchwarden &
Overseers of the Poor there, or one of them, who is and
are hereby required to receive and provide for him
according to Law. Hereof fail not, and this shall be your
[..] Given under our Hands and Seals the Thirtiet &
[..] uly Anno Domini 172 4
