Know all men to these presents that wee Lyonel Gattford< no role > Rector of the parish of St Dionis Backchurch London
Vapt Samuel Lane< no role > John Richardson< no role > Church bardens , Thomas Bonylone< no role > James bood< no role > and Severall others
pishoners of the aforesaid pish, (Laue by vertue of an order of vestry Recorded in the vestry books of the
same pish) Disposed of and put out, Sarah Smith< no role > a Foundling Child of the said pish, into Joseph Farecloath< no role >
of Hattfield in the County of Hertford yeoman For the space of Seaven years next ensueing Demending att
The feast of St John Baptist in the yeare of our Lord on thousand six hundred Eighty and six For the
Full space and terms of Seaven years, Paying into the said Joseph Faircloth< no role > all the Sealing hereof
The sume of Nine pounds of Lawfull English Money As Full Satisfation From the said Pish For all
and every thing relateing to the said Sarah Smith< no role > For the said for me of yeard aforesaid. The Recent
whereof the said Joseph Farecloath< no role > doth here by acknowledg, Now the said Joseph Farecloth< no role > doth by these
presents oblidge himself his heirs and Admines. In the Sums of Twenty pounds of Libe Lawful money that
He the said Joseph Farecloth< no role > his wife or Assignes shall well and truely Keep to maintayne 10th Cloaths Meat Ir in
Washing Lodging and all Necessaries, And likewise instant and teath the said Sarah Smith< no role > how to work
Playne work to doe all manner Huswifery and whatever else he the said Joseph Fairscloth< no role > and his wife
Can or are Capable of teaching the said Sarah Smith< no role > For the terme of Seaven yeares as aforesaid
And that in Case of any default herein on the pfe of the said Joseph, It shall and may be Lane Full far
the Minister Churchwardens or any the aforesaid persons to sue or arrest the said Joseph Farecloath< no role > For the sd
Sume of twenty pounds as aforesd For the performance of this Covenant J doe hereinto put my Hand and Seal this twenty
Ninth day of June 1686 And in the Second year of the reigne of our Sovereign Lord King James the Second St.
