Church Rate

Mr. Church Warden Richardson acquainted the
Gentlemen present that this Vestry was held pursuant
to public notice given in the Church to make a Church
Rate for the year ensuing and on other Affairs.

Philpot Lane< no role >
house

Mr. Church Warden Richardson further observed that
a principal part of the Business intended to be taken
into Consideration by this Vestry was the Payment of
the Workmen's Bills for the Repairs of the House in
Philpot Lane< no role > in the occupation of Mr. Theed and to
raise Money for the same, but from the Information
he had receivd this Morning from Mr. Arch late Church-
Warden there would be sufficient in his hands to discharge
the said Bills or if not the deficiency would be inconsiderable
The Church Warden therefore apprehended it would be
unnecessary to enter into that business for the present.
And several Gentlemen being of opinion that it would
be better to defer making the Church Rate till Mr. Arch's
Account was Audited according to the usual Custom It
was thereupon Ordered that the making the Church Rate
be defer'd till another Summons should be issued for that
purpose.

Partition across
the Church

Mr. Thomas Hudson< no role > was desired to prepare an
Estimate of the Expence of placing a Skreen or Partition
between the Church Warden's and Sidesmen's Pews.

Appeal against
Order of Removal

Mr. Maynard took notice of an Appeal intended to
be made at the next Quarter Sessions at Guildford in
Surrey against a Pass Warrant or Order by which one Mary
Holmes had been removed from Newington in Surrey
