touching the Regular Method of Such Election Read
Resolved that all the Inhabitants who pay to Church &
Poor have a Right to Vote
A Motion was made Whether the Election shod. be by
Ballot or Poll & upon holding up of Hands Mr. Church
Warden Branch Declared the Majority were for a Poll
Motion made that the Church Warden shod. proceed
imediatly to take the Poll but Debates arising Many
who were for Ballet withdrew from the Vestry Room.
Resolved by the Church Warden & these Inhabitants
who remained in the Vestry Room to open a Poll directly
& Close at 3 in the afternoon & that Notice thereof be given
through out the Parish & Church Warden proceeded to
take the Poll accordingly
During the Fine of the Poll Mr Saml Gilly delivd. in at the
Table a Protest (on Behalf of himself & the Sevl. Inhabitants
who before withdrew) agt the Election being carried on in
any other Method than by Ballot, which Protest was not
Signed by any of the Inhabitants.
