This day the Severall Peticons of Richard Hutton< no role > , Thomas Hewell< no role > , John Hooker< no role > , Thomas
Horne
< no role > , & Samuell Blunt< no role > , being Severally read, & Each of them praying to be Clerk to this
Company, in the Room of Mr. Joseph Knapp< no role > the late Clerk , who hath rendred himself
incapable, & by his Letter this day publickly read,(& hereafter entred)fully resigned
his Right to the Sd. Place; And on a due Examinacon of the matter; It manifestly on
appearing that the Sd. Richard Hutton< no role > hath the majority of Voices,(two & twenty of
the Court of Assistants being prsent).Of which Twelve were for ye Sd. Richard Hutton< no role > ,
Two for the Sd. John Hooker< no role > & One for the Sd. Thomas Horne< no role > , the rest refuseing to
declare for any one, & giveing up the Eleccon. It is therefore Ordered That the
Sd. Richard Hutton< no role > be, & is hereby declared to be, duely Elected & chosen Clerk to
this Company & to have receive & enjoy the Wages Fees, & Profits belonging thereto
and as other Clerks have before lawfully received & taken. And the Sd. Richard
Hutton
< no role > was imediately after Sworne Clerk accordingly; and had the Possession
of the Clerks house & of the Boakes & Writings belonging to ye Sd. Company
delivered to him by the present Master & Wardens.

Ordered, That the Letter from Mr. Joseph Knapp< no role > , the late Clerk , now read in
upon Court, be according to the Desire thereof, entred in the Court Book, & is as
followeth; Vizt.,

To the Master Wardens & Assistants of the Worshippll. Company of Carpenters
May it please Yor. Worshipps, Worthy Gentn. I am Sorry to See so much Trouble
given on Account of my unhappy Misfortunes. I Shall not enlarge thereon, Therefore
This is to Acquaint, That I have not time enough to being my Creditors to a
Complyance, and by what I can learn, Some will not Comply, Therefore to prevent
