Court Day Continued March the 6th: 1738

Severall repairs & to be done
to the houses in the New
Buildings att London Wall}

The said Committee also reported That they had viewed the Houses in the New Buildings in
London Wall when the severall Tennants wanted the following things to be done which the
said Committee thought proper to lay before this Court for their Order Vizt

MrJackson desires the Kitchin and Passage Floor to be plained and a Penthouse over the back
Door and the Parlour Chimney to be sett with Tyles

The Dutch Minister desires Window Shutters to the back Staires and sash Fastnings & shutters
to his Study and 3 or 4 shelves and a small Hatch at the Stair head

Mr Caw desires the Chimney to be Cured from smoaking and a Marble slab in the Parlour and
the Grate in the Yard to be altered

Ordered That All the said Things be done for the said severall Tennants accordingly

All the Chimneys to be new
topt}

Ordered That all the Chimneys in the New Court be new topt inorder to prevent their
smoaking

Leave to Mr Clark to assign
His Lease}

Ordered That Mr John Clarke< no role > have leave to assign over his Lease of Premisses in Fenchurch
Street to Mr Saml Fance But with this Reservacon that he be not discharged from the Covenants
in his Lease on his part to be done and performed

Mr Chapman's Lease
executed}

This Day the Clerk read a Lease between This Company and Anthony Chapman< no role > of Premisses in
Barnaby Street Southwark made in pursuance of an Agreement last Court day which was now
agreed to and executed accordingly

Court money Discontinued

A Motion was made and the Question put whether the Order made the 5th:of December Last
touching paying £2:6d Court Money to each Member who appeared in the Court Room before ten
o' Clock should Continue Thereupon and on rebate of the Matter This Court Finding that paying the
Court Money tended to no Advantage Do hereby make void the said recited Order And do now order That
no Court Money be paid after this day

Master Osgood to take
Councell's Opinion on the
Statue 5':Eliz:}

Ordered That Master Osgood do Take Councell's Opinion touching Persons exercising the Trade of
a Carpenter That have not served seven yeares to the said Trade.

Mr Lewis wanted a further
time in his Lease which
is Ordered upon his
Conveying a piece of
Freehold to the Company
& paying £100 Fine}

Percival Lewis< no role > Esqr (the Compays Tennant in Lyme Street appeared att this Court and desired They
would grant him a further term in his Lease to make up his Term 61 Years from this time And he
would layout £200 and pay a Fine of £200 and then he withdrew Thereupon debates arose And the
Question was putt And It was Ordered Nemine Contradicente That If the said Mr Lewis would make
a Conveyance of the peice of Freehold Ground which he purchased of Mr Northey to this Company and
their Successors forever and would pay £100 more as a Fine This Court would lett the said Mr Lewis
a further Term according to the above Proposall And now ordered Mr Poole the Clerk to Waite on
the said Mr Lewis with their Resolucon
