At a General Court held at Carpenters Hall London
on Tuesday the 6th: day of February 1759

PresentThe Master, the Upper and Renter Wardens and Most
of the Livery

Ordered that the Clerk do Declare the Vacancy of a middle Warden to this
Worshipful Corporation by the Death of Col. James Steere< no role > the late Middle
Warden in the following manner

Gentlemen

I am Ordered to Acquaint you that your late Worthy middle
Warden Col. James Steere< no role > is dead And that you are Summoned here this day
to Chuse a New Warden in his Room for the Remaining part of the Year And
for the purpose the Master Wardens and Assistants will withdraw & Agree
upon proper Persons to be putt in Nomination

Genttlemen

The Master Wardens and Assistants have agreed that the
following Persons be putt in Nomination for Middle Warden of this Company
for the Remaining part of the Year in the Room of Col. James Steere< no role > your late
middle Warden deceased

Mr. Samuel Chitty< no role > 35 Elected
Mr. James Norman< no role > 1
Mr. William Robinson< no role > 0

Whereupon Mr. Samuel Chitty< no role > was declared duly Elected

Then the Court of Assistants withdrew into the Parlour and Mr
Chitty was Sworn into his Office and took his place accordingly
