Continued, Thursday the 25th. April 1799 .

Stairs should be, as hereto fore, considered as a Public
Room, for the accommodation of the Committee, and the
Governors at large.

And that the further consideration of the surveyor's
Report respecting the Repairs, should be post poned.

And had ordered different Payments to be made,
amounting to £1,043..16..-.

Assessed Taxes


The Court Proceeded to taken into consideration the
Payment of the Assessed Taxes for several of the Officers and
Servants of Bridewell Hospital, as recommended by the
House Committee:

Resolved, that this Court do now agree with the said
recommendation, except with respect to the Revd. Thomas
Bowen
< no role > , who declared that he had already paid them.

Motion for Surveyor
to consider the state
of the Buildings Etc.


A Motion was made and seconded, that it be referred
the Surveyor, to consider the Present condition of the
Buildings of Bethlem Hospital, and report his opinion
thereof to the Court, together with the probable annual
expence of Keeping the same in repair; that such of the
Governors as are of the Architectural line, be requested.
to assist Mor. Lewis in making such Survey and Report,
and that the request of this Court be Signified to them
by the Clerk; Which was carried in the Affirmative.

Report of Committee
of Audites,


The following Report of the Committee of Auditors
was then read.

In Pursuance of the fourth standing Rull and
Order for the Government of these Hospitals, We, your
Commitee of Auditors, whose names are hereunto
subscribed, do certify, that we have accdited and
examined the general Accounts of both Hospitals for one
Year from Christmas 1797 to Christmas 1798; and do
