Continued Friday 22nd. June 1792

Auditor General The Office of
to cease after the Death of the
present and that the House with
such others as become vacant be let
or Employed for the Benefit of the Charity


A Motion being made and seconded and the Question being put That as
the Office of Auditor General is merely honorary and unnecessary the same do
cease and determine with the life present worthy possessor and that his House
with such others as become vacant be either lat or employed for the Benefit of
the Charity it was carried in the affirmative

Office to become Vacant by
death or otherwise the same to be
abolished if unnecessary or the
Salary reduced

Enquire to be confind to the
Hospl. and Precinct and parts
adjacent and that the apprentices do
not in future go out of the Hospital
with same

A Motion being made and seconded and the Question being put That as
other Offices at either Hospital become vacant by death or otherwise the same
be abolished if unnecessary or the Salary reduced as the case may require and
that generally perquisites and unnecessary expences of every kind be abolished
as much as may be and a suitable economy constantly observed in
dispensing the Revenues of the Charity. That the use of the Engines be confined
to the Hospital the Precinct and parts immediately adjacent and that the
Apprentices do not in future go out of the Hospital with the same it was carried in the
affirmative

Feasts at the expence of the Hospital
to be a Dinner on Easter Monday
one on St. Matthew's Day and are
Annual Dinner at a Tavern to
the Auditors

A Motion being made and seconded and the Question being put That the
only Feasts at the expence of the Charities be a Dinner on Easter Monday
one on Saint Mathews Day and one annual Dinner at a Tavern to the
Auditors it was carried in the affirmative

Clerks Salary upon the first Vacancy
be reduced in £200 a year & no perquisites
from the Hospital or allowance for in
House his Charges for Leases to
be £5.10s.0d Town Leases and
7 Guineas up to 10 Guineas for Leases
of Farm all charges included and
that the reduction of his Salary take
place on the death or vacancy of either
of the present and that there
be no joint Clock in future

A Motion being made and seconded and the Question being put That upon
the first Vacancy the Clerk's Salary be reduced to £200 a year and the other
Emoluments incident to his Situation being very considerable that he have
no perquisites whatsover from the Hospitals or allowance for a House his
daily attendance at the Office during the usual Hours of Business and at
Courts and Committees as hereafter being fully sufficient for the discharge of
his Duties. That the Clerks charges to theyourTenants for Leases be regulated
by those of Saint Bartholomews which are £5.10s.0d for a pair Leases of
any Town Estate and 7 Guineas upto Ten Guineas according to the
Length and special covenants for Leases of Farms the City seal and all
other charges included it was carried in the affirmative.

A Motion being made and second and the Question being put That
the Reduction of the Clerks Salary take place on the death or vacancy of
either of the present Clerks and that there be not any consideration an
additional or joint Clerk in his stead it was carried in the affirmative

Surveyor to have £150 a year
and no per Centage


A Motion being made and seconded and the Question being put That
in lieu of a small salary and a per Centage theyourSurveyor have a fixed
salary of £150 a year for both Hospitals for which he shall perform the
various Duties incident to the Office as more particularly stated under
that Head in the Apprentice and that he have no other allowance for
those services it was carried in the affirmative
