Continued Thursday the 29th. April 1790

Bethlem Hospital
Court returned their greatful thanks
to the Lord Mayor Alderman
and Commons for granting the
Hospital a Lease of a piece
of Ground adjoining Apothecay's
apartmt for 883½ years at
1s. P Annum and that the sd.
piece of Ground be inclosed for
the use of the Apothecary


the same to the Judgment of this Honorable Court Dated this
3d. day of February 1790 Wm Plomer< no role > W: Powell Wm Anderson< no role >
J. Hopkins John Reade< no role > Wm. Hopkins< no role > W:Sharpe And a Motion
being made and Question put that this Court doth agree with the Committee
in the said Report the same was Resolved in the Affirmative and it is
referred back to the said Committee to carry the same into Execution Rix
Rd. Williams< no role > Clk Co. Co. And a Motion being made and Question put
that the Greatful thanks of this Court be given to The Right Honorable Lord
Mayor Aldermen and Commons in Common Council assembled for the relief and
accommodation afforded to the Hospital of Bethlem by their said Resolution
the same was resolved in the Affirmative And it is Ordered that a Copy of
this Order be fairly Transcribed signed by the Clerk of these Hospitals and
transmitted to the Town Clerk of the City of London to be by him communicated
to the next Court of Common Council And it is further Ordered that it
be referred to the Grand Committee of Bethlem Hospital to inclose the said
piece of Ground and make such alterations in the House belonging to the
Apothecary of these Hospitals as they may think necessary and proper

£50 reported


At this Court Richard Clark< no role > Esquire Alderman Treasurer reported
that he had received of Peter Pope< no role > £50 for the use of Bridewell and
Bethlem Hospitals It was moved and seconded that the Thanks of this
Court be given to Mr. Pope for his Kind and Chritable Donation

Courtney The Revd Doctor
their Benefactions of 2 Guineas
each reported


At this Court Richard Clark< no role > Esquire Alderman Treasurer reported
that he had received of the Right Reverend The Lord Bishop of Lincoln
Two Guineas and of the Reverend Doctor Countney Two Guineas by the
hands of the Reverend Moses Wight< no role > for the use of the Incurables in
Bethlem Hospital It was moved and seconded that Mr. Wight be desired
to give the Thanks of this Court to The Lord Bishop of Lincoln and Doctor
Courtney for their kind and Charitable Donations

Upon Reading the Humble Petition of Jeremiah Carter< no role > Citizen and
Orrice Weaver setting forth that there being a Vacancy of an Artsmaster in this
Hospital by the death of Robert Carter< no role > the Petitioners Father and the
Petitioner being ready and willing to take such a Number of Apprentices as
the Court should think proper and to keep his House in repair with Glairing
Plaistering and Whitewashing at his own expence as is usually done by
Artsmasters and to comply with all Orders of Court and Committee in relation
to Artsmasters and therefore praying to be Elected an Artsmaster
Whereupon a Motion being made and seconded that the said Jeremiah
Carter
