Continued Thursday 30th. Novr. 1786 .

Fifty Pounds for the Use of Bridewell & Bethlem Hospitals It was
moved and seconded that the thanks of this Court be given to Mr.
Matthews for his kind & Charitable Donation.

Edward Matthews< no role > of Tottenham Court Road Esqr . being
Proposed by Richd. Clark< no role > Esqr . Aldn . Treasurer to be Elected a Governor
of these Hospitals It is Ordered that such Election shall be
determined by a Majority of Votes at the next General Court and
that Notice of such intended Election be inserted in the Summons's
for such Court.

Proposed as a Governor


Philip Wyal Crowther< no role > of Basinghall Street London Esqr .
being Proposed by Richd. Clark< no role > Esqr . Alderman (as having served the
Office of one of the Stewards ) to be Elected a Governor of these Hospitals
It is Ordered that such Election shall be Determined by a Majority
of Votes at the next General Court and that Notice of such intended
Election be inserted in the Summons's for such Court.

Applegate Stephens to be paid
£10 Mr. Fowke's Gift


Mr. Deputy Rogers and Mr. Richd. Austin< no role > two of the
Governors reported that in Pursuance of an Order of Court of the 27th.
Day of July last they had made an Inquiry and found that Stephen
Applegate
< no role > late Apprentice to John Sanders< no role > was set up for himself
in his Trade and has the Character of a Deligent and sober man
It is Ordered that the Clerk do pay the said Stephen Applegate
Ten Pounds out of Mr. Fowke's Gift to be allowed him in his next
Account.

Hudd Richard< no role >
to be inquired after for Locks Gift


Upon reading the humble Petition of Richard Hudd< no role > Citizen
and Weaver Setting forth That he served his Apprenticeship in this
Hospital to Thomas Reynolds< no role > by Indenture Dated 28th. June 1776
And by Order of Court of 29th. January 1784 was made free of this
City the 3d. Day of February 1784 and is set up for himself in his Trade
in Elder Street Spital Fields has received paid of Mr. Fowkes Gift and praying part of Mr. Locks Gift
It is Ordered that Mr. Deputy Rogers Mr. Samuel Swain< no role > or
Richd. Austin< no role > Esqr .or any two of them be desired to Inquire of the said
Richd. Hudd be set up for himself in his said Trade and of his
hopefulness therein & report the same to the Court.
