Continued Thursday 23d. June 1785

Governors as to the mode of
him Nomination each Governor
who has served be Office of
Steward & nominate at any
General And within 3 years
afterwards

bearing date the 16th day of June instant in the Wards and figuras
following In Pursuance of an Order of Court bearing date
the 9th. day of June instant whereby it was referred to this
Committee to consider whether any and what Alteration was
necessary to be made in the Mode of Nomainting Governors of
these Hospitals in future the Committee having Proceeded to
consider of the Matters so Referred And a Motion being made
and seconded That on Alteration is necessary to be made in the
Mode of Nominating Governors of these Hospitals in future
and the question being put it passed in the Affirmative and
upon further debate of the matter another Motion was made
and seconded That it is the Opinon of this Committee That
in future instead of the Periodical General Nominations which
have been usual in these Hospitals every person who shall
hereafter serve the Office of Steward shall have a right (at any
General Court which shall be holden within Three years after
Serving the said Office to Nominate a Governor of these Hospitals
and the Question being put it passed in the Affirmative All
which is Nevertheless submitted to the Judgment of the Court
and ordered to be reported at the next Court This Court having
duly Weighed and considered the said Report Doth confirm the
same

Govrs. who have served the Office
who of Steward and have not
nominated may nominate


And upon further Debate of the matter It was Resolved
that those Governors who have Served the Office of Steward but
have never Nominated be Admitted to Nominate a Governor
of these Hospitals at any General Court within Twelve Mouth
such Governor not being beyond the Seas or Presented by Sickness
and it is Ordered that a Copy of this resolution be sent to
such Governors respectively

Carmathen Margins of
him Benefaction of £100 reported


The Right Houble Lord Mayor Treasurer reported that he
had received of the Right Honble the Marginse of Carmarthen
One hundred Pounds for the Use of Bridewell and
Bethlem Hospitals It was Moved and seconded that the
thanks of this Court be given to the Marginse of Carmarthen
for his kind and Charitable Donation
