Continued Thursday 25th. November 1779.

London or the Assistant Comptroller of the said City who has lately
Prepared the Hospital Leases Pursuant to the Orders of the said
Common Council directed to Messrs. Eade and Wilton other Tenants of
Bridewell Hospital in the Words and figures following that is to say,
"Sir I am to Acquaint you that an Hospital Committee is summoned
" to meet on Wednesday next at Guildhall at 5 o' Clock in the afternoon
" to take into Consideration the Referrence from the Court of Common
"Council concerning your Lease of Premises from Bridewell Hospital
"and your are particularly desired to Attend the Committee at that
"time and being with you any Agreement or other Articles
"concerning the same as you may be Possessed of I am Sir Your
"humble Servt. E. Boxley Town Clerks Office Guildhall
"16th. October 1779."

That at A Court of Common Council holden on the 29th. Day
of October last It was resolved unanimously that the Person
Acting as treasurer of Christ Hospital should lay before the first
Common Council held after the 25th. day of March next an Account
of the Money received and paid by him from the 24th. day of June
1778 to the 24th. day of June 1779 and the like Orders or Resolution
were then made by the said Commn. Council upon the treasurers
of the said other Hospitals which have been since served upon
them with a View to take the Conduct Care and Management
of the said Hospitals and the great Revenues thereunto severally
belonging from your Petitioners the Presidents treasurers and
the Present acting governors of such Hospitals respectively into
the Hands Disposal and Contoroul of the said Common Council
who have never Acted in the Conduct or Management of the said
Hospitals or either of them as Common Council since the Foundation
thereof

That the governors who have Conducted the Affairs of the sd.
Hospitals from the Original low State to the Present Prosperous
flourishing State of their Revenues by the Ancient Custom and
Usage of every Hospital have been Elected for Life and duly Attend
all the Courts and Committees and Perform the Various Dutys of their
Office with great Attention & Assiduity without any Recompence or Advertise
